Dunkirk Beach Covered In Snow, 2019
Acrylic on canvas
27 x 41 cm

This is the second painting I’ve made of Dunkirk Beach. It’s a little different from the first. It was midnight when we had our first snowfall this winter. As we went out to play in the snow, you could see that no one had stepped in the snow yet. The snow laid perfectly smooth. On this night, the beach didn’t look as dark as it usually does. It seemed like the snow reflected all the light and shot it up to the sky. This time I could see the horizon line at the end of the water. The snow added a little light to a great night as I slipped and fell in a snowball fight.
